‍STARRY NIGHT IN RIDGEWOOD!

‍Have you seen the new mural in Ridgewood? Stop by 11 Oak Street - in the alleyway just down the street from Raymond's - and become part of the art! Jaclyn Carter's creative interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" is the first OutsideAIR (Art in Ridgewood) installation in the Central Business District. "We believe art has the power to make you happy, especially when it's interactive," said Carter. Grab a friend, snap a photo for Instagram and don't forget to tag @artistsandcrafts. 


‍PLAYGROUND GRAND OPENING

Deputy Mayor Pam Perron cut the ribbon at the new ADA-accessible playground at Habernickel Park, made possible through a $68,000 state recreation grant. "Close your eyes and think of your earliest memories. Where did they take place?" Perron asked the crowd. "Everybody remembers a park. We're forming the adults of tomorrow with this park, which is so special and so important."


‍SENIOR FAIR A SUCCESS

At the Senior Health and Wellness Fair, participants picked up educational materials from more than a dozen vendors, enjoyed healthy snacks, and learned how to stay ahead of diabetes from Rachelle Morales, Valley Health System Community Health Nurse Educator.


HOLIDAY PLANTING TOMORROW

‍Holiday planting is taking place "snow or shine" tomorrow, November 22 at 8:30 am. Be sure to bring a small trowel, hand clippers and gardening gloves - all a must - if you'd like to lend a hand. 


‍CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING

‍In observance of Thanksgiving, Village Hall will be closed on November 27 and 28. There will be no garbage collection or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving, and the Recycling Center also will be closed. The Recycling Center will be open on Friday, November 28, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. We hope you enjoy the holiday!


‍HELP SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER

‍Residents of all ages are invited to come to Village Hall on Wednesday, December 3 at 3:15 pm for a fun, creative card-making session.The Health Department's annual Cards of Joy program is designed to brighten the season for those who may be lonely or experiencing other challenges during the holiday season. All supplies will be provided.


‍ONE MILLION MINUTES
CELEBRATION

‍Join us in the Youth Lounge at Village Hall on Monday, December 8 at 6:00 pm for a 1 Million Minutes of Wellness Challenge Celebration! There will be prizes, light refreshments and a high-energy Zumba class led by Reed DeBow from the Ridgewood YMCA. Mark your calendar! 


‍SENSORY-FRIENDLY
TREE LIGHTING

Children of all abilities can enjoy the holiday season in a comfortable, inclusive environment at Access Ridgewood's Sensory-Friendly Dinner and Tree Lighting on Monday, December 8, 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Reservations are required. Sign up today to secure your family's spot!


‍ANNUAL 'GIVING TREE'

The Parks & Recreation Department's "Giving Tree" supporting the Center for Hope and Safety is up at The Stable! Please consider dropping off new, unwrapped gifts for victims of domestic violence (women, children, teenagers) by Friday, December 12.
