‍CONGRATS, KATIE FREY!

‍Village Manager Keith Kazmark swore in our very own Ridgewood Recreation Supervisor Katie Frey as president of the New Jersey Recreation & Parks Association this week. Katie is a leader in the recreation area and will now share her skills, knowledge and passion state-wide. Congratulations, Katie!

‍CHIEF FOR A DAY

S‍ixteen-year-old Ryan Tansey, a rising 10th grader at Ridgewood High School, was the Ridgewood Police Department's Chief for a Day! Ryan's uplifting spirit, resilience and character reflect the very best of Ridgewood, and we are proud to recognize and celebrate him. Chief Lyons, Captain Amoruso, Officer Perez and Officer Amoruso had the privilege of joining Ryan and his family (pictured with the Ghostbusters Ecto-1) for this memorable day.

‍INCLUSIVE
TOUCH-A-TRUCK BBQ

‍More than 100 children and adults turned out for the Ridgewood Fire Department's Sensory-Friendly Touch-A-Truck Barbecue. The kids explored the vehicles, including a fire engine, police car, ambulance and bomb squad truck, and enjoyed great food grilled by members of the RFD and donated by the Ridgewood Stop & Shop.

‍NEW SPEEDING DETERRENT

Our new radar sign on East Glen Avenue at the PSE&G right-of-way was installed on Wednesday morning! Many thanks to our Citizens Safety Advisory Committee and Signal Division for their continued efforts to enhance safety in the Village. ‍

‍WANTED: VOLUNTEERS

‍The Ridgewood Village Council is seeking residents who are interested in volunteering to serve on the following Boards and Committees: Ridgewood Green Team Advisory Committee, Central Business District Advisory Committee and Green Ridgewood Committee. The submission deadline is June 30. Get all the details here.

‍COMING UP THIS WEEKEND

‍WELCOME, CAMPERS!

‍The tradition continues. The Village is welcoming 500 campers on Monday! Kids, we hope you have a ton of fun in the sun. Drivers, please be extra alert around dropoff and pickup times - 9:00 am and 1:30 pm.

MULCH MONDAY

‍Flowers and trees have been planted in the Central Business District. Now it's time to mulch! Volunteers are meeting downtown on Monday, June 23 at 8:00 am to help mulch around trees and planting beds. Email Councilmember Winograd for details.

‍RESCUE TRAINING

‍As part of their ongoing training, teams from the Ridgewood Fire Department will be participating in rescue dive drills at Graydon Pool on June 24 and June 25 from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Please do not be alarmed if you see RFD members and equipment at the pool during these times.

‍The 16th season of Movies in the Park, hosted by the Ridgewood Guild, continues with "Rebel Without a Cause" on Wednesday, June 25 at 9:00 pm. Bring a chair or a blanket to Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, and enjoy James Dean and Natalie Wood under the stars.
