‍VILLAGE INTERNS RECOGNIZED

‍At Wednesday night's Village Council Meeting, 17 interns were recognized for their contributions to the Village: MJ Aguilar, Gregory Alter, Justin Bongcaron, Nevada Brown, Varun Chowbey, Bohdan Fedorko, Alex Fiol, Travis Jeong, Harold Johnson, Grace Kim, Jaylin Locke, Andrew Mastellone, Angela Monaco, James Ruane, Ryan Sullivan, Katrina Venizelos and Henry Walsh. July 31, 2025 also was proclaimed National Intern Day in the Village. 


‍RPS COACHES RECOGNIZED

‍Also at the Village Council meeting, the Village of Ridgewood recognized Bergen County coach of the year Michael Troy (basketball), Big North Conference coach of the year Kyle Schulke (swimming), and the winningest baseball coach in Bergen County history, Kurt Hommen. Congratulations!


‍COMING UP THIS WEEKEND 


‍PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

‍Residents are invited to a public information meeting on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:30 pm regarding the Safe Routes to School project, which is designed to improve safety for students who walk/bike to school. Improvements are proposed on portions of Lincoln Avenue, Grove Street, Franklin Avenue, North Monroe Street, West Glen Avenue, East Glen Avenue, Bogert Avenue, Hickory Street, Northern Parkway and Franklin Turnpike. Read the details here. 


‍CLOSED FOR JUNETEENTH

‍REMINDER: In observance of the federal holiday Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, all Village offices and departments (except emergency services) will be closed on Thursday, June 19. There will be no garbage or recycling pickup on that day, and the Recycling Center also will be closed. 


‍BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING

‍Come to the first-floor Garden Room at Village Hall on Friday, June 20 - between 1:00 and 3:00 pm - for a free blood pressure screening. High blood pressure is often called the "silent killer" because most people who have it don't have any obvious symptoms. Get checked!


FARMERS' MARKET OPENING


MULCH MONDAY

‍Flowers and trees have been planted in the Central Business District. Now it's time to mulch! Volunteers are meeting downtown on Monday, June 23 at 8:00 am to help mulch around trees and planting beds. Email Councilmember Winograd for details.


‍DOG LICENSE RENEWAL

‍Have a dog? You'll need to renew their license this month. One- and three-year licenses are available through the Ridgewood Health Department. A late fee of $20 per pooch will be assessed after June 30. Download the application.
