‍RIDGEWOOD IS
A HEALTHY TOWN!

‍Ridgewood was named a Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) "Healthy Town" for 2024! "A focus on inclusionary programming that covers a wide range of health topics put Ridgewood into the top category. Continued efforts to expand mental health activities will carry the program's success into 2025," according to the MWC.

The Ridgewood Health Department partnered with numerous individuals and organizations to create more than a dozen informative programs this past year, with topics ranging from menopause and the Mediterranean diet to suicide prevention and parenting a neurodivergent child. In addition, the Health Department hosts monthly blood pressure clinics and child health clinics. Learn more about the Health Department.

The MWC is a program of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute in partnership with the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.

‍FIRE-SAFETY REMINDER

‍In light of this week's sanitation truck fire, we are reminding residents that rechargeable batteries, single-use lithium batteries and computer parts SHOULD NOT BE PLACED IN TRASH OR BULK REFUSE. Please refer to the above graphic for guidance on the proper disposal of various types of batteries. Many items, including electronics, automobile batteries and printer cartridges, can be brought to the Recycling Center. Please refer to the 2025 Ridgewood Green Guide. Hazardous household waste can be dropped off at a Bergen County Utilities Authority collection event. Thank you for keeping us all safe!
