Applications are being accepted for the ULTIMATE SUMMER JOB IN RIDGEWOOD!
Working for Parks and Rec isn't just a job, however. It's a rewarding summer experience that builds skills, confidence and friendships - whether your young adult is a camp counselor, lifeguard, swim instructor, member of the badge staff or pool maintenance team, laborer or working at the concession stand. Plus, they get to be outdoors instead of behind a screen!
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to be out in the sun full-time while earning money," said Benji, who started working at Graydon as a lifeguard and worked his way up to pool manager. "In my mind, everyone wants to enjoy a summer in the sun, and at Graydon you get paid to do so!"
Added bonus: It's a terrific resume-building experience. Parks and Recreation Departments, in fact, are leading providers of first-time employment opportunities for high school students, particularly those interested in education, the medical field and the business world.
"I included a ton of Graydon experiences in my application to medical school," Benji continued. "The independence and skill building that is fostered at Graydon is real."
Encourage the high school students (16+) and young adults in your life to apply...and attend the Summer Job Fair at the Community Center on Wednesday, March 12, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. (See above.) Applicants will learn about the requirements for each position and talk with supervisors who can answer all of their questions.
Application deadline: April 1. Training will begin in late April/early May.
