‍NEW VILLAGE COUNCIL
SWORN IN

‍At last week's Village Council Reorganization Meeting, Paul Vagianos, Pam Perron and Frank Mortimer were sworn in as councilmembers, and the Village said goodbye to Councilmember Lorraine Reynolds. Among the new Village Council's first votes - Paul Vagianos was chosen to serve a second term as Mayor, Pam Perron a second term as Deputy Mayor and Evan Weitz a second term as President Pro Tempore. 


‍GOODBYE, TOWN GARAGE!

‍The long-awaited demolition of the Town Garage took place on Tuesday, marking the end of nearly two decades of efforts to address the Franklin Avenue eyesore. "We are thrilled to tear down this dilapidated building and are looking forward to redeveloping this prime piece of real estate, which will be part of larger revitalization efforts for our historic Central Business District," said Mayor Paul Vagianos. 


‍CURBSIDE TREE PICKUP

‍Curbside Christmas tree pickup will take place from January 2nd through January 28th - Tuesdays on the East Side and Thursdays on the West Side. Please remove all decorations before bringing your tree to the curb. Wreaths and garland will be collected with regular garbage pickup.

‍MLK WEEKEND KICKOFF

‍MLK Celebration Weekend kicks off at the Ridgewood Public Library on January 17th at 6:30 pm with a film and discusson honoring groundbreaking producer Quincy Jones. Scan the QR code to register for one of the 100 seats in the auditorium. 


‍SIGHT OBSTRUCTIONS

‍REMINDER: Owners of properties situated on corner lots must ensure that there are no intersection sight obstructions. ‍Did you know that you can get your blood pressure checked for FREE at Village Hall on the third Thursday of the month? No appointment needed! Just come to the Garden Room on January 17th between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. High blood pressure is often called the "silent killer" because most people who have it don't have any obvious symptoms. That's why it's important to have your blood pressure checked on a regular basis.
